SALINA, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – SC Women’s soccer took on the tall task of facing the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes on their home turf. KWU came into the game undefeated in the KCAC, fighting for the top spot as the conference season winds down. The Warrior defense showed up in a big way to hold the Yotes to just two goals. Elysa Apen was a big part of that success. The Freshman played much bigger than her 5’3 frame in the net racking up 8 saves and giving up the two goals. The rest of the Sterling defense has also stepped up in a big way this season. Sterling ended up taking a 2-0 loss as they were not able to take advantage of their offensive opportunities.
Sterling goes on the road once again at Southwestern to take on a Moundbuilder team that is riding back-to-back KCAC wins. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm.
