STERLING, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – Lady Warrior soccer celebrated their seniors on Saturday. The 2-0 outcome was not the script that Sterling would have written, but it didn’t take away from their celebration of seven players who are finishing their careers as a Warrior.
Elysa Apen did a great job in the net recording eleven saves in the first half, only giving up an unfortunate goal in the final minute of the first half to make it 1-0 at the break. One more goal was scored in the 63′ by the Valor to make it 2-0, and that is where it fell at the end of regulation.
Jessica Gautreau found a seem to take four shots in the contest, Emorie Sautter was able to take three for the Warriors, but were not able to find the net. Rylee Clapp earned the win for Evangel and Apen took the loss for Sterling.
The Lady Warriors continue their homestand on Wednesday against Bethel College at 1 pm.
