It was a successful weekend for 3-2-1A boys wrestlers from the Ad Astra Radio area. In the west and central regionals, a combined 23 wrestlers are headed to the 3-2-1A State Tournament on February 28 and March 1 at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.
In Hoisington on Saturday, three individuals took home regional titles. Jacob Moore of Haven won the 126# weight class with a win over Asher Haag of Ellis. At 150#, Jace Grizzle of Lyons claimed the title with a 4-1 decision over Cole Keeten of Phillipsburg in the championship match. Keegan Urbanek of Ellsworth won the 190# title, beating Kolten Jones of Russell by fall in 5:47. In all, 17 Ad Astra Radio area athletes punched their ticket to state from Hoisington.
At the Cimarron Regional, five area athletes qualified for state. The day was highlighted by second place finishes from Collin Schreiner (190#) and Brody Bell (285#) of Kingman.
