22 Football Warriors Land on KCAC Bissell Division All-Division Teams

WICHITA, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2024 KCAC Football Bissell Division All-Division honorees and individual award winners, as voted on by the division’s football head coaches.

Kansas Wesleyan University secured the Franklin “Gene” Bissell division title, with a perfect 5-0 record against division opponents, as part of a 7-4 overall record. The Coyotes secured the division’s automatic bid to the NAIA Football Championship series.

Luke Armstrong of Kansas Wesleyan University was named the KCAC Football Bissell Division Player of the Year. Armstrong leads his division and all of the KCAC in rushing yards (1,297), which ranks second in the NAIA. He is tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns in all of the KCAC, with 14. He also has 91 receiving yards, 156 punt return yards, and 447 kick return yards, giving him 1,991 all-purpose yards on the year. His total all-purpose yardage ranks first in all of the KCAC, and second in the NAIA.

Eli Williams of Avila Unversity secured the Bissell Division Offensive Player of the Year honor. Williams ranks second in the division in passing yards (1,600), completes passes at a 57% rate, and has eight passing touchdowns on the year. He also has 409 rushing yards on the season, good for sixth overall in the division among all players and first among quarterbacks in the division.

AJ Hemphill of Ottawa University was named the Bissell Division Defensive Player of the Year. Hemphill ranks first in the division, second in all of the KCAC, and third in the NAIA in total tackles (112). He also has 9.5 tackles for loss, ranking seventh in the Bissell division.

Cole Segraves of Kansas Wesleyan University took home the Bissell Division Special Teams Player of the Year honor. Serving as both kicker and punter for the Coyotes, he ranks third in the division in punting yards (632), with a long of 50 yards. His kickoffs average 59.3 yards on the season, with a total kickoff yardage of 3,378. He also is 3-4 on the season on field goals, serving as the “long-distance kicker” for KWU, going 2-3 on field goals over 50 yards (long of 54 on the year).

Kendrick Bell of Sterling College and Ian Quiring of Tabor College were named co-honorees of the Dr. Ted Kessinger Champion of Character award recipient for this division.

Tabor College took home both coaching-related awards in the Bissell Division. Mike Gardner was named the Bissell Division Coach of the Year by his peers, and the Bluejays’ defensive coordinator, CJ Hill, was the division’s Assistant Coach of the Year.
