LENEXA, Kan. – It was a record-setting weekend for the Buhler boys swim and dive team at the 5-1A State Meet held at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center. The Crusaders had swimmers compete in six finals events and placed 8th out of 44 teams represented.
“This was Buhler’s most successful showing at the State Championship,” Head Coach Shane DeWeese said. “Thank you to the parents, friends, and family that came out to support our team and make the weekend a memorable one.”
RESULTS
200 Medley Relay
Hudson DeWeese, Jonah Gardner, Marshall Birney, and Payton Frees medaled in 5th with a school record time of 1:43.90.
200 Individual Medley
Hudson DeWeese medaled in 8th with a finals time of 2:09.58.
Isaak Neighbor finished in 12th with a finals time of 2:14.35.
1 Meter Dive
Scott Schweizer finished 11th with a personal-best score of 279.65.
200 Freestyle Relay
Jonah Gardner, Marshall Birney, Hudson DeWeese, and Payton Frees cut more than a second from their preliminary time and medaled in 6th with a school record time of 1:31.51.
100 Breaststroke
Jonah Gardner jumped two spots in the finals and medaled in 6th with a school record time of 1:30.13.
400 Freestyle Relay
Hudson DeWeese, Payton Free, Marshall Birney, and Jonah Garnder shaved more than two seconds from their preliminary time and medaled in 6th with a school record time of 3:26.57.
