RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Reno County voters Tuesday overwhelmingly approved repeal of a 30 percent food sales requirement for liquor by the drink. Results last night from the Reno County Clerk’s Office had 5,407 votes cast in favor, 1,873 against. The repeal was placed on the ballot by Reno County Commissioners following a local microbrewery coming within days of losing their liquor license due to that requirement.
Two other questions voted on in parts of Reno County were defeated. Pretty Prairie voters narrowly rejected a proposal to eliminate a dog-breed specific ban, while voters in The Highlands turned down a proposal that would have banned short term rentals of less than 30 days in that city.
