Volunteers Collecting Vital Feedback for Reno County Community Health Assessment

SHARE NOW

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Trained volunteers will be collecting input for the 2025 Community Health Assessment (CHA) from residents in select neighborhoods across Reno County on Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14, 2025.

The CHA, conducted every three years, evaluates the overall health and well-being of Reno County residents and is a collaborative effort of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, the Reno County Health Department, Horizons Mental Health Center, and PrairieStar Health Center.

These organizations, also in collaboration with the Reno County Community Wellness Coalition, rely on CHA data to identify pressing health needs, direct resources effectively and to also inform the community about the challenges residents face. This includes the ongoing efforts to address the challenges and improve overall well-being in Reno County.

This year, the assessment uses a “rapid needs assessment model” for collecting household-level data. The Reno County Health Department shared that 30 census blocks have been randomly selected (seven households targeted within each block) —yielding 210 total survey responses.

Volunteer teams consist of two people, who will be asking for residents to answer a short survey about health in the spaces they live, learn, work, and play.

Each participating household will receive a $25 gift card to either Dillons or Amazon for their time and insights.
