MACKSVILLE, Kan. — Two people were arrested Friday morning after the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Macksville, St. John and Stafford Police, the Highway Patrol, Kansas Wildlife and Parks and KHP and Stafford K9 officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of North Spickard in Macksville.
In that house multiple items were found including methamphetamine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, firearms and ammunition, explosives, crossbows, 17 dogs, three pigs, two pythons and a salamander. Numerous Stafford County residents stepped forward to assist law enforcement in handling, transporting and housing the animals taken from the home.

Jeremy Luce and Desiree Parks were taken to the Barton County Jail, both facing requested charges of possession of meth, drug drug paraphernalia, child endangerment, animal abuse, identity theft and distribution of stimulants within 1,000 feet of a school. Luce also faces additional charges of possessing explosives and possessing firearms as a felon.
The bond for Luce was set at $200,000. For Parks, it is at $150,000.
