HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Three people received serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle along State Fair Road Friday night. The incident occurred just after 10:30 PM between Gates 5 and 6.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, which has primary law enforcement responsibility on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, said a vehicle driven by Dylan Shelton, 22, of Hutchinson was eastbound on State Fair Road when it hit the pedestrians who were in the roadway at the time.
Two of the victims identified were 62-year-old Michael Musick and 55-year-old Kristen Musick, both of Hutchinson. They were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and their daughter Lauren asked for prayers for her parents’ healing in a recent Facebook post following the accident.
The third person who was struck was a juvenile and their information was not released because of their age.
Shelton was not injured.
