McPHERSON, Kan. — Three people were injured in a weather related crash Friday morning on US 56 about two miles west of Canton.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by Donald Long of York, Neb., was eastbound on 56 when he lost control in slush on the highway and collided head-on with a pickup driven by Jason Bernhardt of Marion.
Long, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to a Wichita hospital with reported serious injuries.
Bernhardt and a passenger in his vehicle, Kara Druse of Marion, both of whom were wearing seat belts, were reported by the Highway Patrol to have had possible minor injuries, but they were not transported.
