Three crashes Sunday night in north central Kansas claimed two lives and injured four others.
Two people were killed in a Sunday evening crash on K-15 a mile north of the Clay-Dickinson county line. The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by Deanna Hess of Clay Center was southbound on K-15 when she crossed the center line and hit the driver’s side of a car driven by Lisa Stevenson of Salina.
Both drivers were killed, and a passenger in the Stevenson vehicle, Ravean Stevenson, was taken to Salina Regional Health Center with reported serious injuries.
Two crashes occurred Sunday night on I-135 about a mile north of the Crawford Street exit just west of Salina. In the first crash just before 10 p.m., a pickup driven by Jerry Walsh of Salina was southbound when it went off the road to the right and through a ditch where it hit a KDOT fence. He was taken to Salina Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
The second crash occurred about 11:30 p.m., where a semi tractor driven by David Barnes of Salina had slowed for emergency crews working the first wreck when it was rear-ended by a car driven by Kennedy Finkbiner of Salina. Barnes was checked at the scene for a complaint of pain, while Finkbiner was taken to SRHC with reported serious injuries.
