STERLING, Kan. — Sterling Junior-Senior High school was evacuated this morning after a possible gas leak. According to a release from USD 376, the state fire marshal’s office was doing a routine inspection of the school when he felt like there was an odor of natural gas.
The school was then evacuated in abundance of caution, and Black Hills Energy called in to test for any gas leaks.
Students from the school were moved to Sterling Grade School, and once the building is declared safe, they will be brought back to the school to finish the last day of classes before Christmas Break.
