MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — State Farm announced that it has awarded McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity a $20,000.00 grant for this year’s new Habitat home to be built in Moundridge. Galen Shields and Jim LaDuke (pictured) are local State Farm agents. Fred Bohnenblust of McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity announced that this year’s home will be the 41st Habitat home built in McPherson County. Habitat and its volunteers believe that everyone deserves the opportunity of a simple, decent, affordable and safe place to live and call home. State Farm is committed to being a good neighbor by building safer, stronger and better communities across the United States.
Applications for this year’s home to be built in Moundridge are now being accepted. Applicants must be willing to partner with Habitat volunteers to build the home, save for a small down payment and meet certain income requirements. Requests for applications and the income guidelines are available through the website www.mcphersonhabitat.org.
