HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Mark your calendars for the Salty Dog & Salty Pup Triathlon presented by Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Dive, Pedal, Run! Unleash the adventure at the Salty Dog and Salty Pup Triathlon, August 5, 2023.
Whether you’re a seasoned triathlete or just starting out, this is the perfect event for you.
The event is chip-timed, which assists us with the accuracy of each leg, transition, and overall results. All participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Awards will be given for overall male/female finishers and top three male/female finishers in selected age groups.
There are three ways to race: as an individual, as a team, or in our youth division.
Individual:
- Fee: $60 through Aug. 3 (in-person and online); $70 Aug. 4 & 5 (in-person only)
- Ages: 13 & older
- Individuals will swim 400 meters in the pool, bike 10.5 miles on a course closed to vehicles, and run 3.1 miles on a paved trail.
Team:
- Fee: $120 through Aug. 3; $130 Aug. 4 & 5 (in-person only)
- Ages: 13 & older
- Teams will have an individual do each leg of the race: 400-meter swim, 10.5-mile bike, and 5K run/walk.
Salty Pup:
- Fee: $35 through Aug. 3 (in-person and online); $45 Aug. 4 & 5 (in-person only)
- Ages: 5-15 yrs old
- The Salty Pup Triathlon is a miniature version of the Salty Dog that will take place after the Salty Dog Triathlon. Created for youth 15 and under, competitors will swim 100 meters, bike 4.2 miles, and run 1 mile on a course similar to the Salty Dog.
