KINGMAN COUNTY, Kan. – Three Great Bend residents were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Kingman County. It happened shortly before 4 p.m. on US 54 about seven miles west of Kingman.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a pickup pulling a trailer, driven by 23-year-old Jose Manuel Bugarini, was traveling eastbound on US 54 and had slowed to make a turn. The pickup was rear-ended by a semi, driven by 39-year-old Daniel Esparza-Ramirez.
Bugarini was transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center for treatment of reported minor injuries. Two passengers in the pickup, 30-year-old Fernando Barrera and 24-year-old Mario Martinez were also taken to the hospital for evaluation. A third passenger, 32-year-old Jesus Hernandez, as well as Esparza-Ramirez were not injured.
