The Kansas Department of Commerce has launched the latest round of Rural Mural funding. There is $125,000 available for this round to help support creative projects in rural Kansas communities.
The Office of Rural Prosperity (ORP) has opened applications through May 16. The intent of the funding initiative is to bring community members together by activating vacant or underused spaces through the arts.
To qualify for funding, applicants must be from communities with populations of 15,000 residents or less. Murals can beautify community gathering spaces, elevate tourist attractions, and offer a welcoming message for visitors. Proposed projects must be completed by Dec. 31, 2025.
A Rural Mural application webinar will be hosted by ORP Monday, April 7 at 4 p.m. for anyone interested.
