LINDSBORG, Kan. (February 21, 2025) — Visit Lindsborg is excited to share a list of all events and exhibitions that are a part of the Messiah Festival of the Arts. This year marks the 144th consecutive performance of Handel’s Messiah, the longest running rendition of this work in North America. The following list includes everything one can attend by coming to Lindsborg during April.
- March 24-April 25: Messiah Juried Student Art Exhibition in Mingenback Art Center. Rachel Curtis, Butler Community College, is this year’s juror. Hours for Mingenback are9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Mingenback is located on Bethany College Campus, on the corner of Olson and Second Streets.
- April 4-27: Lindsborg Collects…Lindsborg Art, an exhibition of local art collection by local artists, displayed in the Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center, 114 1/2 S. Main Street. Hours are Friday-Sunday, 1:00-5:00pm. Information on the exhibition is found on the Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center website.
- April 10: Messiah Soloists Recital at Pearson Chapel located on the campus of Bethany College, 335 E. Swensson Street. The recital begins at 7:30pm. Festival news is found on the Messiah Festival of the Arts website.
- April 11: Bach’s Passion According to St. Matthew at 7:30pm at Bethany Lutheran Church (please note the change of venue). Bethany Lutheran Church is located at 320 N. Main Street. Tickets can be purchased on the Messiah Festival of the Arts website.
- April 12: Chalk the Välk–A Chalk Festival on the Välkommen Trail! Official start time is 9:00am with some artists beginning earlier. Find details on the Visit Lindsborg website.
- April 13: Handel’s Messiah at 3:00pm in Presser Hall, located on the campus of Bethany College, 335 E. Swensson. Tickets can be purchased on the Messiah Festival of the Arts website.
