McPHERSON, Kan. (Dec. 11, 2025) — The McPherson Opera House is thrilled to announce the start of the bidding process for our newly funded project, made possible by the Heritage Trust Fund grant. This project offers a remarkable opportunity for skilled contractors to be part of a landmark endeavor, enhancing our community and preserving its rich heritage.
Following the receipt of the Heritage Trust Fund grant, the McPherson Opera House is now prepared to move forward with the project, which aims to preserve the structural stability of two grand windows. This project will require the removal of both windows, the rebuilding of the framework, and the reinstallation of
the original windows. As a federally funded grant, this project adheres to strict guidelines, including the public solicitation of bids to ensure a transparent and competitive selection process.

Interested contractors can pick up the official Invitation to Bid packet, including the full Scope of Work, at the Opera House Box Office, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or request it via email from Jordan Bandy at [email protected]. The deadline for sealed bids is Monday,
January 13th at 5:00 PM. We encourage all interested parties to review the project details and requirements thoroughly. All work must follow the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
The McPherson Opera House has a tradition of working with outstanding contractors to complete large restoration projects. With the completion of this project, thanks to the Heritage Trust Fund, the Opera House looks forward to continuing the path of not only meeting expectations but exceeding them.
