McPherson Law Enforcement Investigating Aggravated Battery of Local College Student

McPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Police and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating an overnight aggravated battery incident involving a local college student.

McPherson Police Chief Mikel Golden said McPherson County Emergency Communications received a call just before 4 a.m. of a possible vehicle rollover on US 56 near 19th Avenue, two miles west of Galva. The driver, an 18-year-old male attending college in McPherson was found in the area and had injuries he said were caused by an unknown person.

McPherson EMS transported the man to McPherson Center for Health for initial treatment. He was later transferred to a Wichita hospital where at last word he was reported in critical condition. Extent of injuries is not known.

Preliminary investigation indicated the incident may have originated on a college campus.
