McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson County Courthouse was evacuated on Thursday, Oct. 10 for a bomb threat. The McPherson Police Department released a statement Thursday afternoon about the incident.
According to the police department, a McPherson County District Court employee received a call at 2:42 p.m. that “a bomb is set to go off in three minutes.”
McPherson Police Officers, McPherson County Sheriff’s Deputies, and McPherson Fire Department searched the area for anything suspicious after courthouse employees evacuated the building. No items were found, and the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office took over the situation at 3:29 p.m.
“The safety and well-being of our community is our priority,” McPherson Police Department stated. “We ask everyone to stay vigilant. If you SEE or HEAR SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS, PLEASE SAY SOMETHING.”
