MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson County Community Foundation (MCCF) has announced recipients of the June grants cycle.
This cycle is the last for the Foundation’s 2022-23 fiscal year. The amount given from the unrestricted fund and the David Nutt Fund for Lindsborg this year totals $575,342.
For June, MCCF will be releasing $46,500 to local organizations. $23,500 will come from the general grants cycle and $23,000 will be from the David Nutt Fund for Lindsborg.

McKids – County Baby Shower – $1,000
Safe Sleep Community Baby Shower is an interactive event that invites new and expectant parents, their support people, and community service providers to get together for an educational “Baby Shower”. The primary topics include: safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco cessation, and maternal mental health.
USD 423 – Sphero Project – $3,500
I will use my Sphero robots to teach students about science concepts, do several robotics units, STEM challenges that involve the robots, and math concepts (area, perimeter, etc).
Marquette Community Library – Children’s room update – $4,000
The library board and myself would like to update our children’s room with new shelving, carpet, paint, furniture and ceiling tiles.
Inman Recreation Commission – Inman After School – $1,825
The Inman Rec. Commission is working to provide after school care for Kindergarten to 6th grade from 3:30-6pm.
American Legion Post #23 – Providing handicap access – $9,475
The McPherson American Legion Post #24 is a hub for community activity. We need to replace the south door and equip it with ADA approved automatic door opener/closer.
Pleasant View Home – Automatic Swing Doors independent living building – $5,000
Adding automatic doors will allow our residents and others who visit easier and safer access going in and out.
McPherson Coalition for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity – Representation and Education – $2,200
The funds requested in this grant will go towards both the annual summer Pride event here in town, as well as supporting our ongoing Education project to increase diverse instructional and enrichment materials in local classrooms and other childcare facilities.
City of Lindsborg Recreation Department – Bandshell at Swensson Park Repair – $10,000
A bandshell at Swensson Park in Lindsborg is a very special building. The old structure requires repair. Currently, there is continuous water/moisture infiltration in the structure. During the thaw and freeze cycle, it is expected to get worse.
USD 400 – Valkommen Bridge Relighting Project – $10,000
My project is to re-string the Välkommen Bridge with a new computer-controlled LED system, allowing the bridge to be colored and lit for any holiday or event requested, including time between holidays.
