McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson City Commission Tuesday approved the annexation of just over a three-acre strip of land along E Northview Rd. The annexation was petitioned for by property owner Glenn Hoover and is located just to the west of his Veranda development. As a voluntary annexation, usual notice and hearing requirements are not necessary.
Mill and Overlay
A nearly $473 thousand bid from Conspec, doing business as Kansas Paving, for 2023 mill and overlay projects was approved. Three bids were received on the project, all of which were below the engineer’s estimate and below budget.
Mowing Contract
A contract was approved with PLI for mowing of non-park areas within the city at a cost of $16,320, up slightly from 2022. This involves the mowing of the right of ways and medians from the east side of the railroad overpass to the northbound entrance and exit ramps at I-135, along with an area of city-owned land near the new hotel project. It does not include the steep hillsides on the railroad overpass. PLI’s bid, one of two received, covers mowing twice monthly from April to November.
