McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — The driver of the Nissan SUV, in relation to the fatality accident claiming the life of Canton-Galva Ag Teacher Ashley Austin on Dec. 15, 2023, has been taken into custody and booked into the McPherson County Jail.
According to a press release from the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 26, 2024, an investigation was conducted in the McPherson County Attorney’s Office for formal charging.
The driver was identified as James Holzrichter.
Holzrichter was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Battery, Driving Under the Influence, Aggravated Child Endangerment, No Liability Insurance, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane.
