HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Friday marked the final day on the job for Angie Schultz. She is retiring after a 47-year career as an official District Court stenographer.

Schultz began working as a freelance court reporter in 1976, which she did for 35 years before joining Reno County full-time in 2011. Schultz spent 12 years working primarily with retired Judge Joe McCarville. She also filled in from time to time in other courts in Reno County.

Schultz, who was honored with a reception Friday afternoon in the Reno County Courthouse Veterans Room, said she’d worked in courthouses all over Kansas and called it a great career.

In retirement, she plans to spend more time with family and friends, specifically with her five grandchildren.
