LINDSBORG, Kan. – With one dissenting vote, the Lindsborg City Council Monday night reaffirmed approval given at the March 20th meeting to participate in a bike share program.
The program, for the first year, is being funded in part through a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas. The city’s first-year costs for the program are being funded through ARPA money, with concrete bike pads to be paid for by Bethany College and Lindsborg Community Hospital.
One council member continued to express concern about specific wording in the contract related to the maintenance of bikes used in the program.
Crack Sealing
The Council approved the rental of a Mastic repair machine and material to be used in crack sealing connected with the city’s chip and fog sealing program. The Mastic material is made of a different composition than that used in traditional crack sealing material and has produced good results for the city in the past.
The approval was for up to $10 thousand, which will allow the city to obtain additional material if needed.
