KINGMAN, Kan. — Kingman EMS gave thanks to Invenergy for an $8,000 donation on July 27. With the money, the department was able to buy Sapphire Multi-Therapy Infusion pumps for each ambulance. These programmable IV Pumps will help the providers administer IV medications more quickly and accurately according to Kingman EMS while reducing the risk of medication errors.
According to InfuSystem, the Sapphire infusion pump is designed to deliver saline, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), lipids, IV medication, epidural medication, blood, and blood products. It is intended for controlled delivery through intravascular, subcutaneous, intra-arterial, and epidural routes.
