HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Come experience the 2nd largest annual event held at the Kansas State Fairgrounds! The 57th Annual Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale (KMRS) is only two weeks away on Friday, April 11th from 4 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, April 12th from 8 am until approximately 2:30 pm. Admission is Free! This two-day event attracts thousands of visitors from a multi-state region. There is a lot packed into one short weekend. A highlight for many is the traditional ethnic Mennonite food that is available along with a host of other food options. Crafts, baked items, plants, woven rugs, and other food items are available for purchase.

The sale boasts five distinct auctions. A quilt auction, general auction, silent auction, kid’s auction and surplus auction. The quilt auction is a unique opportunity to come view the artistry and potentially go home with one of the over 200 handcrafted Mennonite quilts. The general auction sells many things but some of the standout items include vintage cars and tractors with this year’s offerings including a 1977 Corvette, 1975 Cadillac Convertible, a like-new 40-foot luxury RV and much more.

The purpose of the KMRS is to raise funds for the humanitarian efforts of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), an organization that works to provide relief, development, and peace in 45 countries around the world. All of the money raised at the sale will go directly to MCC. Last year the sale was able to donate $620,000 to help MCC meet their mission.
