HUTCHINSON/SOUTH HUTCHINSON Kan. — Interfaith Housing and Community Services announced today their partnership with Mennonite Friendship Communities (MFC) to acquire the twenty high-quality senior units at Friendship Place in South Hutchinson.
Interfaith has also entered into an option contract to acquire land along the east side of the MFC campus. Their vision/mission is to continue adding safe affordable senior housing units in Reno County.
Interfaith is seeking full project funding through Kansas Housing Resource Corporation. Available funding is highly competitive for affordable housing development at a state-wide level. Through the grant process, they will have multiple threshold deadlines. Awards for the final project funding are planned to be announced around July 2024.
Interfaith has a history of local affordable housing development including acquisition and new construction of over 60 senior units in recent years. They value their deserving senior community members and will continue to seek out opportunities to expand the availability in the market.
