By the Hutchinson Zoo
The Hutchinson Zoo is developing a new Strategic Master Plan that will guide the Zoo’s and Hutchinson Friends of the Zoo’s mission, vision, activities, and improvements over the next 7-10 years. The Hutchinson Zoo hopes our new ideas will help every guest make a connection with our animals and leave our campus feeling engaged, inspired, and ready to help conserve wildlife. Not only does it contain the map for Hutchinson Zoo’s future, it also shares a vision of Hutchinson Zoo’s conservation role in supporting our local, national, and international community in an ever-changing world.
A new Strategic and Master Plan is required to address outdated buildings and infrastructure, changing animal care and guest needs, and ensure the Zoo continues to evolve and be an example of a modern Zoo. The Zoo’s Strategic Plan (2016-2021) established the foundation for many of the Zoo’s current programs and activities. The updated Strategic Plan will identify pillars of change in our programs, fundraising, activities, conservation efforts, and human capital.
