HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Due to the depth of the water line being repaired and the size of the excavation needed to make the repair, 17th Ave. between Apple Lane and 11th Ave. will remain closed until February 27th so road repairs can be made.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On February 11th, a water line break was reported in the 2700 block of East 17th Ave. where 17th transitions to Airport Road. The break is on a 10-inch water line that was installed in 1967. Public Works Water Maintenance staff are determining the exact location of the break and expect the water line repair to be made by 4:00 pm, February 13th. There are no customers affected while this repair is being made.
Due to the unknown location of the water line break, it requires the closure of E 17th Ave. from Apple Lane to 11th. Traffic control will remain in place while the repair is being made to protect the safety of the workers and the public.
