KANSAS – A Hutchinson man was killed Saturday afternoon in a car-motorcycle crash in southeast Kansas.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the victim as Ryan Simpson. He was eastbound on US 54 just west of the Kansas-Missouri state line when a car failed to yield and turned in front of his motorcycle. The motorcycle then overturned and struck the car.
Simpson was pronounced dead after being transferred to a hospital in Pittsburg. A passenger on the motorcycle, Cynthia Simpson, was taken to a Joplin, Missouri hospital with reported serious injuries.
The driver of the car, Daniel Blake of Fort Scott, was not injured nor was a passenger in his car.
