HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 76-year-old man has died of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle wreck late Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of East 30th.
Hutchinson Police Captain Dayton Gates said that the man was driving west on 30th Ave. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck several objects including a light pole. He was taken by EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the victim has not been released as the family is still in the process of being notified.
Circumstances involving the accident remain under investigation. The HPD Traffic Unit is asking anyone who might have information on it to contact Officer Hammond or Boudreaux at 620-694-2854.
The crash resulted in a power outage in the area including Central Christian School, which dismissed classes at noon on Wednesday.
