HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One person was injured in a garage fire Wednesday night in the 1500 block of West 12th in Hutchinson.
Hutchinson Fire Battalion Chief Jeremy Unruh said the first responding unit after the call came in at 10:45 PM reported this was a working fire and upgraded the alarm to a full structure response.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the garage was heavily damaged and a nearby vehicle had minor damage. A person in the garage at the time was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center by EMS with reported second degree burns.
Cause of the fire is under investigation.
