HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Saving lives and helping others is always the top priority for Hutchinson first responders. Again, this year, these first responders will be using that lifesaving priority to bolster the community’s blood supply. Join Hutchinson’s first responders and be a lifesaver at the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive!
During the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, the Hutchinson Fire and Police departments compete to see who can recruit the most blood donors. Everyone who comes to give can cast a vote to determine who will win this year’s bragging rights to the trophy. All those who come to donate during the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive will receive a commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last (see below).
Chili will be served daily and cinnamon rolls on Wednesday morning.

Since the first week of 2025, over 200 blood drives have been cancelled due to weather in the US, leaving over 5,500 units uncollected. That does not include the California wildfire impact. Keeping the blood supply strong in our area can help lessen the impact of units uncollected due to disaster all over the country.
