HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Hutchinson Fire Department responded to 2704 North Madison for a structure fire Friday shortly after 2 p.m. Upon arrival, units found a residential home with a moderate amount of smoke coming from all vents to the attic.
Crews performed an aggressive interior attack and limited the spread of fire to a small area in the attic. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was the result of a tree limb that fell on a residential power line and damaged the weather head and electrical box, igniting a fire in the attic.
