HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Agreements related to a bleacher replacement project at the Hutchinson Sports Arena were approved Tuesday by the Hutchinson City Council. The existing bleachers are over 30 years old, and there have been issues involving a lack of manufacturer support for parts.
Per an operating agreement with Hutchinson Community College (HutchCC), capital improvements are divided between the City and the College. A 50 percent cost share for the estimated $1.2 million dollar project will be reimbursed over a ten-year period.
Schaefer Architecture, Inc. has been contracted for the design and development of construction documents. Schaefer, formerly known as SJCF, was the lead architect on the 2017 Sports Arena renovation project.
