HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the January Small Business of the Month award to Mitch Rice Injury Law.
Mitch Rice is not your typical attorney. Known for his spirited personality and relentless drive to win, Mitch stands out in a world of over-the-top advertisements and catchy gimmicks. As a proud Hutchinson native, Mitch’s roots run deep in this community. From his days as a student at Lincoln Elementary and Hutch High to running track at Hutchinson Community College, Mitch has always called Hutchinson home.
Before becoming the legal powerhouse, we know today, Mitch started his career as an insurance adjuster. But something didn’t sit right with him. Being “tough on claims” wasn’t his calling. Instead, Mitch found his passion in helping people navigate difficult situations, fighting for their rights, and ultimately giving them a voice.
Fast forward to today, Mitch Rice Injury Law has flourished into a thriving practice located in the heart of Downtown Hutchinson. Over the past four years, Mitch has not only built a successful business but has also made a lasting impact on countless lives. His office, filled with unique and quirky décor (like the skeletons in the conference room), reflects Mitch’s fun-loving yet tenacious approach to his work.
Mitch specializes in workers’ compensation cases—a highly complex and often overlooked area of law. Where others see insurmountable challenges, Mitch sees an opportunity to fight and win for his clients. And win he does, earning his reputation through results and referrals rather than flashy marketing.
Mitch’s success extends beyond his professional accomplishments. He’s a champion of work-life balance, offering his employees unlimited paid time off, comprehensive benefits, and an environment that fosters growth and community involvement. His team, including his long-time receptionist Pam and paralegal Caressa, play a crucial role in the firm’s success.
Mitch’s contributions to our community are equally impressive. From supporting USD 308 and local youth sports to serving as President of the Reno County Bar Association, Mitch’s commitment to giving back is unwavering.
In Mitch’s own words, the most rewarding aspect of running his business is the ability to make a real difference—whether it’s for a client, an employee, or the community at large. His advice for future small business owners is simple: treat others the way you want to be treated, and everything will fall into place.
Mitch Rice Injury Law embodies what it means to be a cornerstone of our local business community.
