For the month of September, 129 homes were sold in the territory served by Prairie Land Realtors Mid-Kansas Multiple Listing Service, up two homes from a year ago, with the sales volume of $25.8 million up by 20.3 percent from a year earlier.
The median sales price region-wide was $165,000, compared to $147.500 dollars in September 2023. Homes selling during the month were typically on the market for 14 days, and brought 100% of list price.
In Reno County, 55 homes sold, down 12.7 percent from last year, with the median sales price of $174,900 up 52.1 percent. In the McPherson area which includes MLS sales from Marion County, the $152,000 median sales price was off 17.8% with 35 homes sold, up 12.9 percent. 15 homes sold in the Pratt area, down 36.4 percent with the $130,000 media price up four percent.
As of Sept. 30, there were 292 active listings, up from 234 in 2023, which represents a 2.5 month supply of homes available for sale. Those homes had a median list price of $182,450. From the active listings, 127 were in Reno County, and 76 were in the McPherson area.
During September, a total of 112 contracts were written, up from 97 a year ago, with 140 contracts still pending at the end of the month.
