SALINA, Kan. — A wind gust of 95 mph was reported just before 9:30 p.m. in downtown Salina, shortly after a 77-mph gust was reported at Salina Regional Airport and high winds came through there earlier in the evening, with extensive tree damage reported.

Winds in excess of 70 mph were also clocked in northern Marion County where high-tension electric transmission lines were taken down near Tampa and tree damage was reported northwest of Durham.

About 18,000 Evergy customers in the Salina area were without power in the wake of the storm. DSO reported just under 500 of their customers without power, mostly in the Salina area.
