HUTCHINSON, Kan. — There is going to be a large amount of construction traffic Wednesday at the site of the new Hilton Garden Inn near 17th and Waldron.
Interim City Manager Mary Grace Clements said during Tuesday’s City Council meeting they are planning to pour the concrete for the main floor of the hotel and intend to get this done in one day. As a result, several trucks may be stacked up at times waiting to unload in that area, which in turn could cause a variety of issues, including those for EMS and other emergency traffic along with traffic entering and exiting the restaurants across from the site.
“It’s one day of heartburn for a lot of goodwill for the community, so we hope that you all can be patient with us as we work through this,” Clements said.
