HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire responded just after 11 Friday morning to a structure fire in the 1600 block of North Dixie.
On arrival, a fire was found in a wall on the second story of the two-story house, which fire crews were able to quickly extinguish and limit damage to the home. That damage was to the wall and to a first-floor ceiling.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the HFD Fire Marshal and a family of five was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Division Chief Jeremy Unruh said no working smoke alarms were found in the structure and no injuries were reported.
