LAREND, Kan. – The 2023-24 Negotiated Agreement with their certified staff was approved by the Fort Larned US 495 Board of Education Monday. The agreement calls for an average four percent pay raise for teachers. The board also approved raises for other employees, three percent for classified staff based on scale adjustment and column movement, a like raise for directors, and a 3.5 percent increase for administrators.
Other Items
Board members approved meal prices for the 2023-24 school year, and an extension of the school resource officer agreement for another year, along with hearing a presentation on the DARE program from the Larned Police Department.
The Board also approved the appointments of Arnie Nelson, Cindi Smith, Israel Hagerman, Carolyn Zook, Jacque Wasinger, Allisa Spain, Talia Smith, Jason Pinkston, Gretchen Holopirek, Brent Hemken, Jessie Pleasant, Marc Perez, Dustin Wilson, Shane Sundahl, and superintendent Bryan Wachs to the 2023-24 Drug-Free Schools Advisory Committee. There will also be a member from the Larned Police Department.
