Flags to be Flown at Full-Staff throughout the State of Kansas for Remainder of Inauguration Day

TOPEKA, Kan. — In accordance with a proclamation made by President Donald Trump, Governor Laura Kelly has directed flags throughout the State of Kansas to be flown at full-staff for the remainder of Inauguration Day.

Flags should return to half-staff at sunrise on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and remain half-staff until sunset on Jan. 28, 2025, in honor of former President Jimmy Carter.

Earlier today, Governor Kelly congratulated President Trump ahead of his inauguration in Washington, D.C., as the 47th president of the United States. 

“I congratulate President Trump on his inauguration and hope for a smooth transition today,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “I look forward to working with his administration and making sure the voices of Kansans are heard in Washington, D.C.”
