COLONY, Kan. — A Thursday night fire has destroyed the Colony Community Church. The fire was reported at 7:43 PM Thursday, and units from several area departments responded, remaining on scene into the day Friday after it re-kindled.
The Iola Register reports the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office has been asked to investigate the cause of the fire, which is at this point being treated as a crime scene.
The Church will be having a congregational meeting Sunday morning at 9 at the new Colony Christian Church next to the ballpark to discuss plans going forward.
A prayer vigil was held Friday evening in the parking lot of Crest USD 479 near the church to support the Colony Community Church Family.
