“Fiber Arts of the Smoky Valley” Exhibition to Run July 5 through July 30

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center will host an exhibition titled “Fiber Arts of the Smoky Valley” beginning July 5 and continuing through July 30.

The exhibition showcases the rich tradition of fiber arts in the Smoky Valley region and features a diverse range of contemporary works.

“Fiber Arts of the Smoky Valley” is a collaborative exhibition featuring fiber artists Debbie Wagner, Donna Sandberg, Shawn Delker, Vivian Anderson, Shin-Hee Chin, Kristy Yenky, Laura Hultquist, and Mary Erickson.

Works will include images created by thread based on portraits and photographs, felted vessels, quilted and embroidered works, along with slow stitch projects created in a workshop facilitated by Carla Wilson.

A closing reception for the artists is scheduled for Sunday, July 28 from 2-4 p.m. at the center.

SVAFC is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
