HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. – One person is dead following a Friday afternoon accident in northern Harvey County.
The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office reports that emergency personnel responded to the scene of a fatality traffic accident shortly after 1 p.m. Preliminary information shows a car traveling southbound on K-15 between Northeast 60th and 48th streets crossed the center line into the northbound lane. An SUV, traveling north, collided with the side of the car and both entered the east ditch.
The driver of the southbound car, a female in her teens, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a female in her 40s, was treated for minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation.
