DAYTON, Ohio — Federal investigators are seeking any possible victims or other information involving a doctor who at one time practiced in Kansas and who has been linked by DNA evidence to a 1989 rape case in Ohio and to two other cases, one of which was a year and a half ago in Kansas.

Fredrick Louis Tanzer, 66, was indicted Friday by a federal grand jury in Dayton, Ohio with four counts of making false statements to an agency or officer of the United States and two counts of making or using a false document or writing.

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Director of Marketing Jessica Flax confirmed to Ad Astra News Dr. Tanzer had previously worked at the hospital but has not been associated with it for at least four years. Beyond that, Flax said HRMC will have no further comment on the matter.

Tanzer also had practiced in Colorado according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.

Since his arrest on Dec. 11, Tanzer has been in custody and will remain in custody pending trial.

Anyone who might have information related to Dr. Fredrick Tanzer is asked to contact the FBI at 800-CALL FBI (800-225-5324)
