February’s Ad Astra Radio McPherson Classroom Hero Award Recipient is Kaden Tichenor

MCPHERSON, Kan. – Ad Astra Radio announces the February 2023 recipient of the McPherson Classroom Hero Award presented by Peoples Bank and Trust.

Kaden Tichenor is in his first year of teaching Kindergarten at Eisenhower Elementary in McPherson USD 418. When asked what his favorite part about being an educator is, he said, “I just really get excited every morning when they’re sitting in the hallway and I can hear their voices, and then they bust through the door and give me hugs.” he mentioned the smiles each day as also being a motivating factor. “They are super special. A little wild, a little crazy, but super sweet, super nice, some of the sweetest kids I’ve ever met.”

Tichenor credited the guidance that his mother provided him, also being an educator, he also mentioned a great experience student teaching with Marci Ruxlow last year.

Eisenhower Principal Chris Allen said, “Mr. Tichenor is such a great teacher, he builds great relationships with his students, and with the staff. It’s been fun to watch him grow throughout the year, he’s very coachable, and wants to improve every day.”
