LINDSBORG, Kan. — On Friday, July 12, at 8 p.m., Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center will host the annual Pie and Ice Cream Social and pie judging contest on the lawn of the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main.

The event supports SVAFC workshops and celebrates the artistry of homemade pies with Red Barn Artist-in- Resident Laura Baker.

Pie enthusiasts are invited to enter a pie in the judging contest by submitting the online form by July 12 at www.svafc.org. All pies for judging must be delivered to the Red Barn on July 14 by 4 p.m. The winners will be announced during the social.

Pie bakers do not have to enter a pie for judging but can bring a pie for the social.

Those bringing pies can enjoy free pie and ice cream that evening. For each pie contributed, participants will receive two slices of pie plus ice cream. Those not bringing a pie can purchase tickets for $5 for one slice of pie and $2 for ice cream.

Don’t miss out on this tasty fundraiser celebrating the art of pie making. Whether participating in the contest or enjoying the delicious pie options, the Pie and Ice Cream Social is an evening of sweet delights and camaraderie. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors at the SVAFC at 114 ½ S. Main Street.
