McPHERSON, Kan. — Who would you invite back to McPherson? Maybe it is that special friend who used to sit on your back porch while your kiddos chased fireflies, your cousins who you only get to catch up with through Snapchat, a co-worker whose unexpected path took her to another state, or a classmate that you know misses our hometown. Why not send them a short note saying now is the time to come home to Kansas, come home to McPherson?
Love, Kansas is a national campaign spearheaded by the Kansas Department of Commerce. It is “a dynamic talent attraction campaign aimed at boosting Kansas’ population by inviting past residents to choose the Sunflower State as their future home. This national marketing initiative will highlight Kansas as an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family, with a special emphasis on ‘boomerangs’ – individuals with previous ties to the state.”
But the Love, Kansas campaign isn’t just about extending an invitation to those who once called Kansas home to come back – “It is also inviting families from around the country to build their lives in the Sunflower State.” This is where you come in. Have you thought of a few people that you want to encourage to be your neighbor?
“Where Livability Meets Exhilaration” is one of the headlines of the Love Kansas campaign. “Kansas is THE place to build your best life. Cozy vibes and a pulse of vibrancy make Kansas the best place to live. Here we value a pace of living that combines impactful work with meaningful time off the clock. Education thrives in the Sunflower State with 90% of residents achieving their high school diploma or higher, making us one of the top states for higher education. The state’s low cost of living allows investment in what really matters to you.”
